About Stephanie

Schumaker-Karstetter

Stephanie Schumaker-Karstetter (she/her), BS, MSW, APSW, has worked in the human services field for 16 years. She follows the social work practices and principles of helping those in need with empathy and respect; dignity and worth of individuals; importance of relationships and partnership; and self-determination and autonomy.

She has experience working as a case manager for at-risk youth, long-term care individuals, and adults experiencing a spectrum of mental health conditions. She also is an experienced, psychosocial rehabilitation program coordinator. Her passion is to learn about individuals and their unique needs through person-centered, strength-based treatment planning and skills training. Her motivation to help others is solution focused with an emphasis on individuals’ personal choice and preferences.

As the social activist and former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” Stephanie firmly believes regardless of barriers, it is through an individual’s unique strengths that progress can be made and goals achieved.

For symptom management and coping skills training, Stephanie draws on her professional experience with Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
