Jillian Oetting (she/her), MS, LPC, NCC, CGP, is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Board-Certified Counselor, and Certified Grief-Informed Professional with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. With over ten years of experience in the mental health field, Jillian has worked with individuals across the lifespan, including supporting children and family systems.
Jillian's theoretical orientation aligns with the principles of positive psychology, with an emphasis on self-compassion, understanding oneself, and individual well-being. She integrates techniques from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Therapy, Emotion-Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Jillian helps clients reframe their personal stories, foster self-kindness, and process emotions and behaviors as parts of themselves that serve a purpose. By replacing shame and guilt with understanding and respect, she hopes to empower clients to uncover how they’ve arrived at their current place in life and embrace personal growth. As a Certified Grief-Informed Professional, Jillian also supports clients in understanding and processing grief, whether related to a death loss or an ambiguous loss, such as a life transition or significant event.
Additionally, Jillian offers behavior modification therapy and intervention to children aged 6 to 11. This unique service is most effective when parents/guardians participate actively, ensuring that the strategies used are reinforced in the child’s everyday environment. Behavior modification therapy is a structured approach that helps children change unwanted behaviors by focusing on positive reinforcement. This comprehensive service includes observation, assessment, intervention planning, regular follow-ups, continuous consultation, and, if necessary, post-assessments to evaluate progress.
Jillian believes in the importance of a collaborative approach to treatment and aims to create a supportive and empowering space for growth, healing, and meaningful change.
